Writing prompt for Tuesday

Eye Contact: Write about two people seeing each other for the first time.

Vanilla. That’s the first thing I noticed as she walked through the door. I inhaled deeply as the room filled with her scent.  Delicately, she ran her fingers across the tops of the candles on the wall. Every now and then she’d pick up one and breathe it in. Her eyes closed as she inhaled each one. Allowing the fragrance to permeate her being both inside and out. It took nearly five minutes for her to notice my stare. I coughed and pretended to be busy putting other items onto the sales floor. As quickly as our eyes locked, she blinked and the moment was gone. I continued to watch her.  I held my breath as the room filled with the cool air from the A/C. It didn’t take long for me to realize she wasn’t wearing a bra. The silky material seemed to gather around her breasts; teasing me. It took all of my willpower to stand there. I held my breath and counted to ten; a trick my so called doctor taught me in our last session.

I continue watching her as she exits the store to catch up with an old friend. It won’t be long before everything is ready and we can begin our life together. She doesn’t know it yet but soon she will be mine. Mine alone. I grasp the growing bulge in my jeans and finally let out the breath I didn’t realize I was holding. Soon.
